Yes — and this is one of the most important parts of an EMBER gift. Add your message in the gift message field on the product page before checkout. We weave your words into the story card itself, so what you write sits alongside the story of the gift rather than arriving as a separate note. It makes the whole thing feel considered rather than assembled.
Reply to your order confirmation email as soon as possible with the message you'd like included. If your order hasn't been dispatched yet, we'll make sure it's on the story card. If it has already shipped, email us at hello@embergifts.co.nz and we'll work out the best way to help.
Never. Every EMBER box is sent gift-ready — no receipts, no invoices, no pricing of any kind inside the package. The only thing inside is the gift itself and the story card. Your order confirmation goes to your email address only.
Each EMBER box is designed as a complete experience — the components work together in a specific sequence, and changing individual items can affect how that experience lands. That said, if you have something specific in mind, email us at hello@embergifts.co.nz and we'll see what's possible. For significant customisation, our corporate gifting programme is better suited — we design those from the brief up.
Reply directly to your order confirmation email — that's the quickest way to reach us with the relevant order details already attached. Alternatively, email hello@embergifts.co.nz with your order number and we'll get back to you promptly.

Delivery
Full details are on our Shipping & Delivery page. The short version: Auckland from $10.99, rest of North Island from $12.99, South Island from $18.99. Free standard shipping on all orders over $180.
Yes. As soon as your order is collected by the courier, we automatically send a tracking link to the email address you provided at checkout. If you haven't received it, check your spam folder first, then email us at hello@embergifts.co.nz and we'll resend it.
We dispatch same day on orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday. While we can't guarantee delivery on a specific date, you can add a preferred delivery date note at checkout and we'll do our best to time dispatch accordingly. For time-sensitive occasions, we recommend ordering with a day or two of buffer.
By default, all EMBER parcels are sent signature required. If no one is home, the courier will leave a card and the recipient can arrange redelivery at a convenient time.

If you'd prefer authority to leave, select this at checkout and include clear instructions on where to leave it. By doing so, you take responsibility for the parcel once delivered.
You can check any NZ address at nzcouriers.co.nz/checkit. This will tell you whether it's classified as rural and whether Saturday delivery is available.
Start with the tracking link in your dispatch email. If the tracking doesn't help, or if your order is significantly overdue, email us at hello@embergifts.co.nz with your order number and we'll investigate with the courier on your behalf.
Currently we ship within Aotearoa New Zealand only. If you're based overseas and want to send an EMBER gift to someone in NZ, that works perfectly — just use the recipient's NZ address at checkout.
We're an online-only business and don't offer pick-up. Every EMBER order is dispatched via courier directly to the recipient — which is rather the point. The unboxing is part of the experience.

A hamper is a collection of things. An EMBER box is an experience that unfolds. Every component earns its place by contributing to a specific ritual or sequence. The story card guides the recipient through it. Nothing is filler. The result is a gift that feels considered from the moment it's opened — and one that the recipient remembers, because they did something with it.
Every EMBER box includes a beautifully printed story card — not a receipt, not a thank-you note, but a letter. It tells the story of the gift: where the materials came from, who made them, what they mean. On the inside it walks the recipient through their ritual step by step, and includes dotted lines for your personal message. It's the part people consistently tell us they keep. We source from Aotearoa wherever we can — kawakawa seeds from Banks Peninsula, pounamu from Te Wai Pounamu, mānuka from above the bush line, artisan makers from across the country. Provenance matters to us because it's part of what makes the story worth telling.
Yes. Every piece is made with genuine materials — pounamu nephrite jade from Te Wai Pounamu, bone carved by hand, paua shell from New Zealand waters. No two pieces are identical. The story card that comes with each piece names the material, traces its origin, and explains its significance.

Every EMBER box arrives gift-ready and beautifully presented. The packaging is designed to feel like the beginning of something — because it is.

Yes. We offer tiered pricing for larger orders. Email us at hello@embergifts.co.nz with the boxes you're considering and the quantity you need and we'll come back to you with the right pricing.
Yes. For corporate orders we produce custom story cards with your company's message — your words, your brand, EMBER's design and craftsmanship. Get in touch to discuss what this looks like for your specific order.
Absolutely. Email hello@embergifts.co.nz with your date, your numbers and any brief you have — we'll take it from there.
Payment
We accept all major credit and debit cards — Visa, Mastercard and AMEX — as well as PayPal, Afterpay and Shop Pay. All payments are processed securely through Shopify's payment system.
Yes. All payments on embergifts.co.nz are processed through Shopify's secure checkout. Your card details are encrypted and never stored on our system. We never see your full card number at any point.
Check that all card details are entered correctly. If everything looks right and it's still failing, your bank may be blocking the transaction — try a different card or contact your bank. If you continue to have trouble, email us at hello@embergifts.co.nz and we'll help.

Yes — every Forever Print is generated from the exact date and location you provide. A birth night, an anniversary, a memorial, a wedding, a moving day. Just enter the date, time and place on the product page and we generate the real astronomical data for that moment. No two prints are the same.
